Functionality of the Site

J. Crew acquires their customer's information when they create an account, make a purchase, or just browse the site. Cookies and previously viewed or purchased items is one way to track the behavioral aspects of a customer. The information is tracked to make the customer's shopping experience more personal. They use customer's information to send out catalogs by mail, send contests or promotions through email, tracking orders and demographical purposes. They use the account information to view previous orders of customer's, so J.Crew can filter items to meet the customer's personal preference.
